IQF Tunnel Freezers: The Revolutionary Technology in Food Processing
IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) tunnel freezers have become indispensable equipment in modern food production, enabling the preservation of natural texture, nutritional value, and freshness while significantly extending shelf life.
How It Works:
IQF tunnel freezers operate at ultra-low temperatures (-30°C to -40°C) with powerful air circulation that flash-freezes food products within seconds, keeping individual pieces separate without clumping.
Key Advantages:
Superior Quality Preservation:
Rapid freezing locks in cellular structure
Minimal loss of color, flavor, texture, and nutrients
Maintains natural freshness
Unmatched Efficiency:
Freezing process completed in seconds rather than minutes
Energy-efficient models reduce operational costs
Continuous production with automated loading systems
Wide Product Range:
Fruits: Strawberries, raspberries, mango, pineapple
Vegetables: Peas, green beans, carrots, corn
Seafood: Shrimp, squid, fish fillets
Prepared Foods: Dumplings, pizza, nuggets, meatballs
Hygienic Design:
Full stainless steel construction
CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems
HEPA-filtered air circulation
Industrial Applications:
✔ Food processing plants
✔ Fruit/vegetable packing facilities
✔ Seafood processors
✔ Ready-to-eat meal production

Our iFrost quick freezer is expertly designed to rapidly freeze food items while preserving their natural quality and taste. It is commonly used for freezing cooked döner, shredded mozzarella, shrimp, fruit, and vegetable cubes. Our IQFs, with energy-saving design and user-friendly settings, are ideal for food processing facilities, distributors, and retailers seeking optimum preservation and efficiency.
iFrost - Always by Your Side with a Broad Service Network
iFrost IQF tunnels allow products to freeze perfectly without sticking to each other, thanks to a special sliding shaking plate system that moves products through a fluidized bed from entry to exit. Compared to conveyor systems, the shaking plate system enables even the smallest and stickiest products to be frozen with minimal product loss. Our IQF units are especially designed for products that easily stick together during freezing or cooling, such as shredded (cubed or strip) cheese and cubed onions.
Since there is no return conveyor, pressurized airflow passes directly over the product. Also, without conveyor belts, there is no risk of product getting stuck between belts or in gaps. The iFrost IQF shock freezing system works with a two-stage fluidized bed principle. All fan motors inside the tunnel are speed- controlled, ensuring regulated airflow throughout the tunnel.
Our Advantages
The asymmetric movement of the bed plates inside the iFrost IQF tunnel ensures optimal
airflow and excellent separation even for the stickiest meat products—whether raw, minced, cubed, or marinated. This results in a natural and appetizing appearance for frozen IQF meat products.
Energy Saving
The speed of iFrost IQF fans can be adjusted thanks to frequency converters attached to each fan. This unique feature allows completely customized airflow for each product type in each freezing zone. By reducing fan speed, overall energy savings can reach up to 30%.
Hygienic Design
The iFrost IQF tunnel freezer uses a CTP panel system with no joints, and the replaceable base plates are very easy to replace and clean. All these features ensure food safety, especially in meat processing facilities. iFrost's puzzle-connected replaceable plates represent one of the most innovative and important features of the IQF freezing tunnel because they can be cleaned outside the freezer, reventing cross-contamination between different batches.

System Components
Product Feeding Unit:
Designed to evenly distribute the product across the moving plates.
Pulsator Unit
Pressurized air is delivered in pulses through the cooler by-pass line. This unit agitates the product while mixing it with the hot air already passed through the product, extending the defrosting time of the evaporator.
Product Flow Control Actuator
A thickness adjustment system for optimal cooling, minimal moisture loss, and energy saving over moving plates.
Mixer:
A mixing system to prevent clumping and sticking of products.
Snow Cleaning System (SRS):
An automatic defrost system that uses pressurized air to clean crystalized frost off the cooler surface, delaying the need for defrost and enabling longer operation times.
Cabin Design:
Food-grade 2.5mm thick CTP panels imported from Italy are used on both the interior and exterior. The structure includes gelcoat and woven reinforcements. The surface has a glossy RAL 9016 white finish and is film- coated. For insulation, 100mm thick XPS with 40 density is used, which is more stable and longer-lasting than polyurethane.
The Bottom Line:
IQF tunnel freezers are game-changing solutions that enhance product quality while maximizing production efficiency. With quick ROI, they've become essential for competitive food businesses.
